The story of Rebekah and Seth starts over three years ago. Seth had recently moved to California and needed access to cash, so he decided to open a new account at Bank of America. While waiting in line, Seth's attention was drawn to an attractive young bank employee. Luckily she was in charge of setting up new client accounts, they met and she started to work on setting him up; her name was Rebekah. She was very friendly and Seth thought she was being flirtatious (little did he know she was friendly with all clients); after she finished they parted ways.
A month later, Seth returned to the bank to update something in his account. Sure enough he was assisted by Rebekah. They casually talked and Rebekah informed Seth that it was her last day and she was moving up the corporate ladder. Seth, still thinking they had a good connection and had nothing to lose since she was leaving, took the opportunity and asked her out to dinner. With nothing to lose, Rebekah accepted the invitation even though she knew how little money Seth had in his account.
Later that night they ate sushi and talked for hours. Little did they know that their relationship would blossom into what it is today.
Rebekah was born in Hollywood, California to Bruce and Neavy King. She was raised in Concord, CA and is the youngest of 3 siblings (the only girl). Rebekah graduated from Ygnacio Valley High School and excelled in volleyball, softball and other various school activities.
After graduation, Rebekah moved 400 miles down to Southern California and attended Azusa Pacific University. Her junior year of college, she traveled to 10 cities in Europe to study international business. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in International Business. After graduation, Rebekah went to Cambodia on a missions trip with her school, where she worked with churches to help develop impoverished cities.
Rebekah's career started with Bank of America as a Senior Personal Banker and worked her way up to a Premier Client Manager, where she managed portfolio's of high net worth clients. After 4 1/2 years, Rebekah left Bank of America for Morgan Stanley where she is currently working as a Financial Advisor.
Seth was raised in Dartmouth, Massachusetts by parents Rosemary Trudelle and Roy Bertalotto. Seth is the youngest of 4 siblings. He attended Dartmouth High School where he dabbled in track and other school activities.
Upon completion of high school, Seth attended Westfield State College in Westfield, MA. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science with a minor in Mathematics. Along with his passion for all things computers, Seth was also active in school organizations like Habitat for Humanity and the Outing Club.
After graduation, Seth and a couple of friends moved to California for fame and fortune (which they are still searching for). After a one year stint at a small dot com company maintaining their website, Seth moved to his current position at Yahoo! News; where he currently maintains and updates all of Yahoo! News' webpages.
Rebekah had recently started a new job at Morgan Stanley and was in the mist of taking her financial licensing tests. Seth thought it would be a good idea to pop the question on the day of one of her tests. He figured if she passed the test then the proposal would be an added surprise. However, if she didn't pass then this would lift her spirits.
Rebekah's test day came and she called Seth to let him know that she passed. Seth suggested he cook her dinner and have cake to celebrate. After their sensationally prepared baked scallop dinner, Seth told Rebekah to wait in the living room while he decorated the top of the cake. Upon entering the room, Rebekah noticed that the cake was not decorated with a "Congratulations" banner but instead looked like a ring that was drawn on the top.
Seth proceeded to get on one knee and asked Rebekah to marry him. She said, "yes" completely shocked and surprised. Afterwards, we called all of our family and friends to share the good news.
